Family Service League and its SAVE (Sexual Assault and Violence Education) program, the state-designated Sexual Violence Program for Essex County received a proclamation from theTownship of Bloomfield, New Jersey. The proclamation recognizes the significant contributions of Family Service League/SAVE in addressing sexual assault within Essex County.

This acknowledgment honors Family Service League/SAVE’s dedication and commitment to supporting survivors of sexual assault and educational services to prevent sexual violence. The proclamation raises awareness about the prevalence of sexual assault and the importance of addressing it within the community. By highlighting the work of Family Service League/SAVE, it encourages community members to become more informed and involved in efforts to combat sexual violence.

April 2024 marks the official 23rd anniversary of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. To amplify this awareness and highlighting the work of Family Service League/SAVE the proclamation encourages community members to become more informed and involved in efforts to combat sexual violence.

Family Service League (FSL), established in 1881, is a non-profit organization whose mission
is to strengthen and support those seeking counseling for any life event, provide sexual violence advocacy services, and offer educational programs to combat sexual violence. All our services are open to individuals, their significant others, and family members. Family Service League is a client-centered agency that is committed to making its services available to all in the community. SAVE (Sexual Assault and Violence Education) formed in 2004 by FSL is a state-designated sexual violence program. It is a part of Essex County’s Sexual Assault Team, which consists of Forensic Nurse Examiners, Law Enforcement, and SAVE’s Confidential Sexual Violence Advocates. The team has two goals: To provide direct services to survivors of sexual violence and their families and to work to prevent sexual violence through education and advocacy.
