FSL Receives The MetLife Foundation Community Impact Grant
Family Service League is pleased to announce that it has received a grant for $5,000 from The MetLife Foundation through their Community Impact Grant Program (CIGP). The grant will assist Family Service League in providing quality, affordable, and accessible counseling services to survivors of domestic violence.
Road to Wellness: Mobile Health Fair event
FSL/SAVE had the privilege of tabling at Essex County's Health Department's Road to Wellness: Mobile Health Fair event on 11/10/24. We provided resources, information, and support to community members and local organizations there.

Spooky Strides for Success 5K
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Family Service League, Partners NJ, and other local domestic violence organizations participated in Spooky Strides for Strength, a Halloween-themed run/walk event on Sunday, October 27.
This event took place at South Mountain Reservation in West Orange, and all proceeds went towards supporting the various domestic violence and sexual violence organization sponsors.

Family Service League Receives $80,656 Grant
Family Service League is pleased to announce that it has received a grant for $80,656 from The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey. The grant will assist Family Service League in providing quality, affordable, and accessible counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. This grant is a part of a third-year renewal in response to the increased demand for service initially identified during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Governor Murphy Signs Bipartisan Legislation Expanding Sexual Assault Victim’s Bill of Rights
On Tuesday, September 3, Governor Murphy signed S1017/A3748 into law, expanding NJ’s Sexual Assault Victim’s Bill of Rights (SAVBR) by requiring that victims of sexual assault be notified of certain developments concerning the evidence of their respective cases.

Take Back the Night Newark NJ
On Thursday, April 18, 2024, as part of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, Family Service League (FSL) and its SAVE of Essex County Program, joined co-sponsors Rutger’s University, NJIT, and other supporting organizations in a Take Back The Night evening march, rally & speak-out, focused on spreading awareness about the prevalence of sexual violence in communities and college campuses, as well as de-stigmatizing survivors.
Family Service League Recognized for Commitment to Victims of Sexual Assault by Bloomfield, NJ
April 19, 2024: Family Service League and its SAVE (Sexual Assault and Violence Education) program, the state-designated Sexual Violence Program for Essex County received a proclamation from the Township of Bloomfield, New Jersey. The proclamation recognizes the significant contributions of Family Service League/SAVE in addressing sexual assault within Essex County.
Family Service League Amplifies Sexual Assault Awareness Month with the Help of Local Coffee Shops
April, nationally recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, is all about connection. This April we dispersed coffee sleeves to local coffee shops in hopes of empowering our community to take a stand against sexual violence. Thank you to all the coffee shops who have participated thus far!
